This page shows maps of the average frequency of risk-creating meteorological phenomenon (for example thunderstorms, freezing rain or intense cold) or of the occurrence of certain risk-related meteorological thresholds (for example temperatures above 30C or rain accumulations exceeding 25 mm). They were prepared using Environment Canada's "1971-2000 Normals and extremes" which are also available on Environment Canada's Climate Archive website. They are offered either as color maps, either as dot maps, or both. Certain color maps contain dots in data sparse areas. Two views are available: one for all of Quebec and the other for southern Quebec, between Montreal and the Lower St-Lawrence.
